Ooh! A New Office!

I was excited to read this, and look forward to seeing how this looks! Of course, it will probably be a few years until I actually see it, but it will be very interesting to see basically the whole design overturned.

It Happens to the Best of Us...

This article says the Bush twins (yes, the daughters of our humble leader) have been vacationing in Buenos Aires, when Barbara had her bag stolen! At dinner, with Secret Service all around!!

Yes, it's a bad day when your bag gets stolen, but its an even worse day when its your job to make sure that sort of thing doesn't happen!

Good luck, Secret Service... there's two years left guarding those chicks and their handbags...

I Shall Run Away and Join!

Last night I went to Cirq du Soleil, Corteo. It was quite an interesting way to spend Halloween evening. A few attendees wore costumes, but they were NOTHING compared with the elaborate and imaginative costumes the performers wore. Everything was colorful and smooth flowing, with a lot of extra movement that made the performers seem even bendier than they actually were (which was still impressive!).

The whole thing was so graceful and fanciful. It was about the dream of a clown about his funeral, and the whole thing was a celebration of his life. They had wonderful music to accompany each scene. Throughout, they had girls in beautiful angel costumes to hand out props, or provide another thing for your peripheral vision to take in. The trapeze work was amazing, and always hard to decide which group to watch (they usually had two or three people doing the same thing at once, which seemed even more spectacular than just one).

I enjoyed the whole thing, but I had a few favorite parts I especially enjoyed. There were some people that had BIG hoops that they stood in, and rolled themselves around the stage, like they were huge quarters having just been spun. I thought that would the thing I would most like to learn.
They also had spectacular jugglers, and they did fun, complicated tricks of climbing on top of each other and juggling back and forth and across the stage, making it look much easier than I’m sure it is.
The most surprising thing that I liked was a little lady, who was smaller than child size, settled into a harness that was attached to a number of huge balloons that had helium in them. She was so cute, and they let her balloons float out into the audiences for them to push her by the tips of her toes and have her bounce and float around. Her little exclamations sounded so delightful and fun! I thought it would be fun to have your own set of huge balloons to be buoyant around town in.

It was a wonderful show, and I recommend it to everyone if they have the chance. I also think it would be fun to join…
